Hi Jay! It will cook faster and change the texture. When cooked whole it stays juicy and shreds in large strands. Smaller pieces tend to become more like stew meat and can easily overcook.

Hi Trisha. You could use a heavy bottom pot that is oven safe and has a tight fitting lid. If you want to try this in a slow cooker, you can follow the instructions in this Mississippi Pot Roast Recipe too.
